Introducing Brandon Santini & Delta Highway

Brandon Santini and Delta Highway

There are many different opinions as to what the future of blues harmonica will be. Memphis based Brandon Santini is undeniably a worthy player to keep an eye on as the next decade unfolds. His name is worthy of conversations that involve Jason Ricci, Billy Gibson, Dennis Gruenling, Rick Estrin and other frontline harmonica players with tasteful speed he combines with his respect to tradition. It’s traditional blues with a present color.

Raised in North Carolina, Brandon relocated to Memphis where he began to absorb the sounds and culture of the Delta, honing his craft night after night, sweating it out in local Beale Street clubs just like Robert Johnson, Muddy Waters, & B.B. King and turning it into what it is today. For the last six years, as frontman for Delta Highway he has toured relentlessly throughout North America and four foreign countries bringing his distinct voice and playing style to music lovers everywhere.

Coming off a big year in 2009, a year where Brandon Santini was nominated for a Blues Music Award for “Best New Artist Debut,” joined forces with BLUZAPALOOZA for two incredible shows in Cairo, Egypt and toured relentlessly across the country, now Brandon brings in new and familiar faces to his exciting new project “Brandon Santini & Delta Highway.”

Elliot Sowell (Guitar) hails from Texas originally and has resided in St. Louis, MO for the past several years and spent time handling guitar duties with The Rockin’ Jake Band.

Tom “Slim” Louis (Bass) will be returning to the band after nearly a year and a half absence. He also recently toured with The Rockin’ Jake Band and was also a member of Jason Ricci & New Blood.

Rounding out the new lineup is Derek Bonn (Drums) a St. Louis resident and a member of Los Carnales and has backed other artists such as Arthur Williams, Nick Curran, and Kirk Fletcher.

The players may be different but the sound is still the same on the Delta Highway! Plans are already in the works for a new album to be released by Summer 2010!
