Wow, Lots of Radio Shows Featuring WiB’s (Women in Blues)!! AND Contest for Women

Dear Readers,
I got a lot of incoming email when I asked about any other shows featuring Women in Blues…and I am providing you with the information all these great folks shared with me! Plus, a bonus sent to me about a contest for female fronted bands (that is long so I am putting it near the bottom!

Kim Almasie with will be co-hosting a WiB radio show every other Tues and another female jock takes the other every other Tues.

Charley Burch let me know that because the Memphis and Shelby County Music Commission is having an awards luncheon “Emissaries of Memphis Music Music” for women.

Diego Luis Martínez will do a show featuring just women on Saturday 6 (TODAY) at Javeriana Estereo, Bogota, Colombia. You can listen it at from 5 pm to 6 pm Colombia schedule (- 5 GMT). Check playlist at

Sunday Wild reports about “Women of Substance Sing The Blues” show that highlights great songs by Indie artists in the Blues genre. The new playlist starteds airing yesterday ( and will air with the same lineup EVERY FRIDAY at 5 PM EST (2 PM PST) for the next three months. Listen to discover some great new artists and come back each week to hear and support your favorites.

The Dewey Beach Chickfest is seeking female-fronted bands for their festival that will be held May 7-8, 2010 in Dewey Beach, Delaware at the Rusty Rudder nightclub, a venue that houses 4 stages.

Genre doesn’t matter, but you MUST BE A FEMALE-FRONTED BAND.
Dewey Beach Chickfest is brought to you by the same promoters who bring you Dewey Beach Music Conference & Festival, Dewey Beach JamFest, and the Dewey Beach PopFest. 40 bands will play!

All bands that apply, whether chosen or not, get to attend the shows, and eat at no cost. There is no cover charge to the public for this event!

The Deadline to Submit is March 15. You MUST have Reverb Nation page to submit!
