LOS ANGELES, Calif. — In 1967, Frank Sinatra teamed up with Brazilian singer, pianist, guitarist, composer and songwriter Antonio Carlos Jobim to record an album that married the Chairman’s signature vocals with rhythms from the master of bossa nova. The resulting album, Francis Albert Sinatra/Antonio Carlos Jobim, reached #19, remaining on Billboard’s rock-dominated album chart for 28 weeks.

Bistro-Award Winning Vocalist Linda Kosut Presents 6-Show Series At San Francisco’s Rrazz Room

BMI/Bistro Award winner & MAC Award nominee jazz and cabaret vocalist LINDA KOSUT begins a new 6-show series at San Francisco’s number one nightclub, The Rrazz Room at the Nikko Hotel. The series began with her sold-out birthday concert, “When I’m 64!” on Monday, March 22, 2010. The remaining shows in the series will have Linda sharing the stage and introducing other talent from the Bay Area as well as out-of-towners.

First Lady Of Jazz, Mary Lou Williams To Be Commemorated On 100th Birthday

The newly restored Church of St. Francis Xavier and the Mary Lou Williams Foundation will celebrate the 100th anniversary of the birth of the First Lady of Jazz with a concert to benefit Xavier Mission outreach programs including the homeless shelter and soup kitchen.

WBGO Jazz 88.3FM radio host Rob Crocker will emcee the celebration taking place on Saturday, May 8, 2010 at 7:30pm.

Jazz Revelation Records Releases New CD, Birds Of A Feather

Berklee’s student run label Jazz Revelation Records (JRR) celebrates the release of its seventh compilation CD, Birds of a Feather, with a concert at the Berklee Performance Center on Thursday, April 22. The concert will feature seven of the label’s most exciting student artists: Christoph Huber, Tom Kain, Utar Dundarartun, Kazuyo Kuriya, Lihi Haruvi, Nathan Cepelinski, and Roy Guzman.

The Seventh Annual Jazz Revelation Records CD Release Concert is $10 ($5 for seniors), and begins at 8:15 p.m. at the Berklee Performance Center (BPC), located at 136 Massachusetts Avenue, Boston, MA.
