Bistro-Award Winning Vocalist Linda Kosut Presents 6-Show Series At San Francisco’s Rrazz Room

BMI/Bistro Award winner & MAC Award nominee jazz and cabaret vocalist LINDA KOSUT begins a new 6-show series at San Francisco’s number one nightclub, The Rrazz Room at the Nikko Hotel. The series began with her sold-out birthday concert, “When I’m 64!” on Monday, March 22, 2010. The remaining shows in the series will have Linda sharing the stage and introducing other talent from the Bay Area as well as out-of-towners.

DATES: Mondays in 2010 – April 26, May 17, June 14, September 20 and December 6. TIME: 8:00pm. COVER: $25 (advance purchase) + 2-drink min. RESERVATIONS: TicketWeb: or (866) 468-3399.

Kosut dons “two hats” for this series – those of producer and performer. As producer, she has invited other performers to debut at the Rrazz Room – from New York, Seattle and San Francisco. As performer, she will as well perform, sharing the stage with her invited guests.

April 26 – When Worlds Collide – Cabaret meets Rhythm & Blues. Two Entertainers. Two Bands. One Night! In this night of cabaret, R & B, and sexy duets, Linda performs with the Mike Greensill Trio, providing contrast to Jack Pollard who makes his Rrazz Room debut performing with the Dan Daniels Band. His silky baritone breathes new life into the songs of Barry White, Teddy Pendergrass, Lou Rawls, Johnny Hartman and others. During his career, Jack has shared the stage with B.B. King, Stevie Wonder and The Temptations. “When Jack is singing, your foot will tap, your head will bob, and you’ll find it impossible to stay in your seat.”
Musical Director for Linda: Mike Greensill;
Musical Director for Jack: Dan Daniels;
The Band: Daniel Fabricant, bass; Paul Van Wageningen, drums; Tony Malfatti, horns

May 17 – When Girls Just Want to Have Fun. Linda introduces to San Francisco audiences, well-known Seattle performer, Drag Chanteuse, Arnaldo! Linda will pay tribute to the “boys” of music including Springsteen, Newman, Carmichael, Brown Jr., etc., while Bistro-Award winner, Arnaldo! will present his acclaimed Eartha Kitt tribute show. Arnaldo!, a soloist with the Seattle Men’s Chorus, has performed with SMC in some of the major concert halls in the US, Europe, New Zealand and Australia. He has performed his one-person cabaret shows in Portland, Las Vegas, Palm Springs, Puerto Vallarta and New York. In 2005, he completed the Cabaret Summer Conference Workshop at Yale University. In 2006, a group of cabaret performers spearheaded by Arnaldo! started the Pacific Northwest Cabaret Association
Musical Director for Linda: Max Perkoff, piano and trombone;
Musical Director for Arnaldo: Bob Bruneau (Seattle);
The Band: Sam Bevan, bass; Paul Van Wageningen, drums

June 14 – When the /Natives Get Restless. When Nancy Tierney (affectionately known as the “Diva of the North Bay”) upped and moved to New York in 2009, her Bay Area fans were devastated. And now, at the behest of Kosut, Tierney is coming “home” to give her fans a taste of that very special Nancy Tierney style. Linda, a native New Yorker who’s put down roots in California, and Nancy, a native 4th-generation Californian who’s recently moved to New York … well, there’s some fun to be had with this bi-coastal transplant concept. “A truly wonderful performer… A performance by Nancy is an experience of the senses. She draws you into the show, not only because of the quality of her talent, but her stage presence pulls you in and keeps you completely entertained and captivated.” – Ted Williams, KJZY/KZST Radio. o
The Band: John Simon, piano; Tom Shader, bass; Alan Hall, drums; Tony Malfatti, horns.

September 20 – New Stars of the Rrazz Room. As co-founders of Kitchenette Productions, Linda and Lua Hadar (producer and world music vocalist), will present 4 to 6 up-and-coming rising stars of the jazz and cabaret scene of San Francisco who will be stepping onto the Rrazz Room stage for first time. Producing events like this in the past, this evening will be a varied and exciting evening of music. More to come. The Band: TBA. and

December 6 – A solo concert. Kosut’s last performance at the Rrazz Room in 2010 is a concept show that has been in the works for most of this year. More about this show in the future, but for sure Kosut will bring her unique entertainment style and skill to it. The Band: TBA.

Linda lives in San Francisco with her husband, 2 dogs, 2 turtles, 4 chickens and thousands of fresh-water fish!

Jazz Review – “[Kosut] is a singer of great ability – conveys romance combined with an earthy heat!”

LA Jazz Scene – “… a new female jazz singer who commands one’s attention … a vocal performance which deserves mention”

Jazz Times – “the best of such artists renowned for their superior ability to act more than sing songs, particularly one as gutsy as Kosut”

Don Heckman, International Review of Music – “jazz/cabaret vocalist Kosut —amazing Bay Area canary — brings her skills as an actress to her insightful interpretations of songs underscored with a fusion of jazz, pop and folk.”
