The Alternate Root Releases Social Change Music Sampler

Palm Springs, CA, April 6, 2010 – The Alternate Root continues its sampler series with the release of a Social Change sampler on April 15, 2010. The release is the third in the series, following successful Holiday and Valentine samplers. The samplers are put together with submissions to the magazine from musicians on all levels of the industry. Once compiled, the samplers are put out through downloads and streaming from the magazine’s website to readers and lovers of music worldwide.

The Social Change sampler came about to give everyone a voice. No particular issue was given as example and all submissions were encouraged to give their words and messages a vehicle to get to the world. From the nearly 800 submissions, the top 36 have been posted on the magazine’s website and readers, friends and fans of the artists or anyone interested in have their own issues given a forum are encouraged to vote. The top 25 votes will join forces with like minded artists who have already submitted tracks for the sampler. James McMurtry, Christine Ohlman, Jason & The Scorchers, The Boxmasters, Chip Taylor and Kasey Anderson have all graciously given their songs for the release.
