Liz Mandeville, 25 year veteran of the Chicago Blues Scene is mother of 4 original CD’s (contributor to six others). The most recent, Red Top shot to # 3 on the international Rootstime charts & stayed in the top 20 for 22 weeks. Her song writing has won International awards and critical acclaim. Her versitile voice, humor, & love of all shades of blue shine through a high energy performance that will leave you smiling and satisfied.
Liz is joined on this set by three consummate professionals. Will Crosby is a spirit inspired, impassioned player, bringing his intimate knowledge of the fret board to bear on every note. He wrings the sweat out of a stanza! Within the well rounded pocket formed by bassist Darryl Wright & Drummer Greg Haar, the rhythm is the most important thing. The groove begins in Chicago but might take you on a musical journey through Memphis soul out to Phoenix for some of Darryl’s cool jazz inflected funk & on down to New Orleans with Greg’s 2nd line supporting Liz’s amazing washboard skills, as I said, smiling & satisfied!
Producer Liz Mandveville has put together a show that stradles generations & continents. The special guest line up features 74 year old, Delmark recording artist and protege of the late Howlin Wolf, Tail Dragger. A true character & old school Chicago Bluesman, Tail Dragger has recently released a new DVD, Live At Rooster’s Lounge, revealing his salty energy & his zest for life. Tail will appear accompanied by proud Viet Nam Vet & Classic Blues Pianist Lance Cammeron. Hailing from Martinsville Indiana, Cammeron is a self taught barrel houser in the Johnny Johnson vein. They will be complimented by the young, Dutch, slide guitarist (& Tail Dragger protege) Peter Stuijk. Peters new CD, Human Ways is getting great reviews all over Europe.
