The Stylistics, one of the most famous soul bands of all time, will be among a bumper variety of acts at Birmingham’s popular Jam House this October. The American foursome are bringing their sweet falsetto Motown and Philadelphia sound to the live music and dining venue on Wednesday, October 27.

Founder members of the ‘60s band Airrion Love and Herbert Murrell will be joined by Harold ‘Eban’ Brown and Van Fields to perform the best of their hits including I’m Stone in Love with You, Let’s Put It All Together and Betcha By Golly Wow.

Returning by popular demand, The Stylistics will be making their only Midlands appearance at the Jam House in St Paul’s Square on a UK-wide autumn tour.

The Jam House October line-up also includes a performance by ultra-talented young saxophonist John Fleming on Tuesday, October 12. The Birmingham Conservatoire graduate recently won the BBC Scotland Young Jazz Musician of the Year Award.

Rock fans will also be well catered for with Mr Ben, an energetic four-piece band that will be performing anthems from the likes of the Police and Proclaimers to the Stereophonics and Snow patrol on Friday and Saturday October 22-23.

The packed programme of events will also include a Jam House debut for top Texan bluesman Sherman Robertson, who will be presenting a subtle blend of blues R&B, jazz and rock on Wednesday, October 13.

Tickets for The Stylistics concert cost £25, with a booking fee of £2.50 if ordering online at the Jam House website (www.thejamhouse.com). Admission to the John Fleming and Sherman Robertson gigs are free. Admission to Mr Ben is free before 8pm, £5 before 10pm (£9pm Saturday) and £8 after, or £5 online (£10 Saturday).

John Bunce, Brand Manager for Luminar, parent company of the Jam House, said: “The Stylistics are one of the best-known soul bands around and we are delighted that they will be returning to serenade music lovers with their timeless classics.”
