Mitchhart’s awards include the “Albert King Award” for guitar from The Blues Foundation; “Blues Entertainer of the Year;” “Blues Male Vocalist of the Year;” “Blues Guitarist of the Year;” “Electric Blues Act of the Year;” and “Acoustic Blues Act of the Year” from Music City Blues. He was also nominated for the “Little Milton Campbell Best Guitarist Award” by the JusBlues Awards in Atlanta.
Mitchhart has 10 albums to his credit, his latest LIVE AT B.B.KING’S debuted at #6 on Billboard’s Blues Chart. The album GOTTA GET THE FEELIN’ BACK AGAIN received a Grammy nod in 2007 and GROWN ASS MAN charted #13 on Billboard.
Mitchhart has appeared on numerous television shows including PBS Jubilee Concert Series (2 separate concerts), TBS (“Dinner and a Movie”), HBO, featured acting role in Mockumentary “Trick or Treat”, The Speed Channel (intro promos for NASCAR races) and ABC’s Monday Night Football (twice for Tennessee Titans appearances including original compositions for the broadcast).
Independent filmmaker Tim Hardiman has recently produced a documentary of Mitchhart’s life called NASHVEGAS BLUES. The documentary has been playing on the DOC Channel for a year and during their “Music Month” it was in Heavy Rotation during Prime Time.
