The nominations come on the heels of the Cracker Barrel Old Country Store® announcement of The Grascals’ newest CD, the 13-track joint-venture, THE GRASCALS & FRIENDS – Country Classics With A Bluegrass Spin (January 10, 2011), and the completion of a hugely-successful (and very busy) 2010.
“It’s been a pivotal year for us,” says band co-founder, Jamie Johnson. “We played over 150 shows, made two trips overseas, headlined some great Fairs and Festivals stateside, and enjoyed several dates on Hank Williams, Jr.’s Rowdy Friends Tour.” The band also made numerous television and radio appearances, formed their own record label, BluGrascal Records, and contributed to recent albums by Hank Williams, Jr., Tanya Tucker, Joe Diffie, Charlie Daniels, Bill Anderson and Cletus T. Judd.
The Grascals’ new video, “I Am Strong” featuring Dolly Parton, premiered this week on AOL and has already started generating excitement for their highly-anticipated, upcoming CD.
Johnson sums up 2010 perfectly, saying, “We are continually blessed.” As for 2011, these hot pickers are kicking it off with a bang.
